Seniors at Ingalls Maritime Training Academy

The Shipbuilder Academy is a a shipbuilder career tech program, hosted by Ingalls Shipbuilding together with the Gulf States Shipbuilding Consortium (GSSC), that offers seniors from Alma Bryant hands-on training in the many shipbuilding crafts. It is housed at the Haley Reeves Barbour Maritime Training Academy at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.

This career tech program offers a number of benefits to students and their futures. Some of these benefits include training in higher level technical skills, core certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), hands-on soft skills training, and a focus on safety applicable in all industries.

In order to qualify for this unique opportunity, students must be entering their senior year and must have taken a minimum of two career tech courses in any field.  Students who have already earned their NCCER Core credential will enter the program as advanced students.
