Band Boosters

Bryant Band Boosters work to make band possible for the kids!

Bryant Band Notes: May 1, 2016

The year has only 4 weeks for the Hurricane Band students, and only 2 weeks for the seniors! Ask the seniors how fast the time flies. The pollen has hit some of us hard, and now the HEAT will be upon us sooner than we’d like to think about. Seniors are now facing the fact that college, trade school, or job is their next choice. Remember time is fluid. Things change, except the need for quality effort to be able to produce beautiful music!

Gail Lyons made the All-State White Band. She rehearsed downtown Mobile April 14-15, then performed with the White band in the Civic Center Coliseum Sat. April 16 at 1pm. It was terrific!

Thanks to President Lola Hemmingway, the parents, and booster officers helping to make the year’s trip to Chattanooga into a smooth operation. Playing for the Walker Valley High Mustang Band, and listening to them play for us was a great part of the trip! It was great to see our Shelby Erwin playing drums in the band.

Thanks to officers and parents for getting the food, serving the kids, pulling the trailer, marching the parades to help keep the kids watered, and helping kids get to the end when they are sick or injured. Thanks to the parents who worked the concession stand to help the band raise money! Just shows again, “It takes a village to raise a child”. Thank you for caring about the band kids!

The Bayou Fleet Blessing parade went like a charm, as the rain didn’t start until we finished performing and were getting on the bus to come back to school!

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”
- Albert Einstein

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance (march?) in the rain!
