Logan Burch

🟦⚪ WHERE ARE THEY NOW? ⚪🟦

🌪 Logan Burch | Class of 2020 | Alma Bryant High School 🌪

Logan Burch graduated from Alma Bryant as part of the Class of 2020, finishing midyear in 2019. During his time at Bryant, Logan played Hurricanes football for three years as a wide receiver and running back, learning lessons that would follow him far beyond the field.

After high school, Logan attended Pensacola State College before making a complete career change. That decision led him to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he first soloed an airplane—an experience that changed everything. Once he realized he wanted to take aviation seriously, Logan moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he attended ATP Flight School and became an alumnus. Today, Logan is a commercial multi-engine pilot, with plans to continue building flight hours by teaching others how to fly and taking part in aerial tours of places like the Grand Canyon.

While his career and travels have been exciting, Logan says his biggest accomplishment since graduating has been his personal and character development. He has learned to make decisions with others’ best interests in mind—especially when it comes to friendships and family. Logan believes putting yourself first will only get you so far, and that no amount of money can ever replace valuable time with loved ones.

Logan credits Alma Bryant with helping prepare him for life after graduation by introducing him to key teachers and lifelong friendships. He speaks fondly of friendships with Logan Lam and Ian Crooks, who he still talks to daily, and of teachers like Mrs. Perkins and Mrs. Bentley—people who listened to his “unrealistic” dreams and reminded him that anything he set his mind to was possible, even when others doubted him.

Logan’s advice to current students is simple but powerful: the sky is the limit—literally. He believes that anything you put your mind to, you can achieve. If you have an intuition, a spark, or an idea, go after it. You don’t need validation or approval—believe in yourself. And if no one else believes in you, Logan does.

What Logan misses most about his time at Bryant is time itself. He reminds students that it moves quickly and can never be reclaimed. He encourages everyone to slow down, appreciate the present, and recognize that no matter how far life takes you, you’ll always look back on these moments. Sometimes, the best times are happening right now.

Looking back, Logan reflects on how much his journey has changed—from living where the closest Walmart was 25 minutes away, to seeing the Charlotte skyline, to watching the sun rise and set over Camelback Mountain. He believes trial and error is essential. Graduation doesn’t mean you have everything figured out. Life unfolds step by step, and authenticity matters more than having a perfect plan.

Logan’s message to Cane Nation is clear: take pride in where you’re from. Your journey is just beginning, and incredible things are ahead.
