
Brandon Rice earned a B.S. in Secondary Education, Social Sciences, and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of South Alabama. He brings twenty-five years of experience in education, having served at Nan-Gray Davis and Hankins Middle Schools from 2001–2004 and at Baker High School from 2004–2022. During this time, he taught a wide range of history and Advanced Placement courses, sponsored student organizations, and coached baseball. Most recently, from 2022–2025, Mr. Rice served as Academy Specialist and Career Coach at Davidson High School, where he built business partnerships, led college and career readiness initiatives, and highlighted student success through community engagement. A recent graduate of the MCPSS Leadership Academy, he has been recognized for his commitment, authenticity, and passion for student achievement. Mr. Rice is excited and eager to serve the Bryant High School community, faculty, and staff, and is grateful to be part of Hurricane Nation!

Over the weekend, Alma Bryant High School was proud to play host to a Middle School Volleyball Tournament as the season officially kicked off. The gym was packed with energy, competition, and school spirit as many local teams came together to showcase their skills on the court.
Both Grand Bay Middle School and Alba Middle School were in attendance, representing Cane Nation with pride and determination. Players showed great teamwork, hustle, and sportsmanship throughout the day, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.
A huge thank you to all the coaches, players, parents, and volunteers who made this event possible. It was truly a great day of volleyball and community coming together to support our student-athletes! 💙

- Bus riders enter through the main office entrance.

- Clear bookbags or athletic bags ONLY.
- After entering, students must report to the gym or cafeteria only.
✅ Arrival & Breakfast
- Breakfast is served 6:45 AM – 7:05 AM in the cafeteria.
- Eating in the break area is not allowed.
✅ Homeroom Locations
- Lists will be posted throughout campus.
- Double-check your homeroom in case changes have been made.
- All students report to homeroom on the first day.
✅ Zero Tolerance Policy
- No cell phones, smartwatches, headphones, earbuds, hoodies, or metal cups/bottles.
- Cell phones must be OFF and stored in bookbags/Yondr pouches, including during dismissal.

These guidelines are in place to promote a safe, professional, and distraction-free learning environment. Please review the information below carefully and begin preparing now to ensure compliance from the first day of school.

Only solid navy or gray polo shirts or approved Alma Bryant spirit shirts (sold through the front office) are allowed.
No button-up shirts or plain colored t-shirts are permitted.
Undershirts must be solid navy, gray, or white—no designs, logos, or other colors.
Spirit shirts must be those pictured and approved by the school. No athletic team shirts, club shirts, or unapproved designs will be permitted.
🧥 OUTERWEAR:
No hoodies are allowed at any time, including those with hoods tucked inside the collar.
Only solid navy or gray sweatshirts or pullovers are allowed and must not have hoods. These may be purchased in the front office.
👖 PANTS & SHORTS:
Acceptable bottoms include uniform-style khaki or solid navy pants and shorts.
Shorts must be knee-length or longer.
Joggers, cargo-style pants, leggings, tights, jeans, or athletic pants are not allowed.
Belts must be black or brown and should be worn properly at all times.

Alma Bryant High School 2025 Retirement Luncheon
Today, we gathered as a Hurricane family to celebrate the incredible careers and lasting legacies of our retiring staff at our annual Retirement Luncheon. It was a day filled with gratitude, laughter, heartfelt memories, and well-deserved recognition. 🌟
🥩 A huge thank you to Mason Farms for grilling up delicious steaks for the occasion! A special shoutout to Master Sergeant Christian and Chief Bryant, who generously provided the steaks for the event — your support made this luncheon extra special!
🍽 Our amazing Café Staff went above and beyond to assist with serving, ensuring everything ran smoothly and our guests felt right at home.
🍰 Our Hospitality & Tourism program sweetened the celebration by preparing a variety of delicious desserts that everyone enjoyed!
🏆 We also took time to present our annual faculty awards, honoring some of the exceptional individuals who make Alma Bryant the best in Mobile County:
🏅 Coach Miller received the prestigious R.L. Watson Award for outstanding leadership and service.
🏅 Coach Donald was honored with the Marta Peak Award, recognizing his dedication to students and excellence in education.
🏅 Dr. Arrington was awarded the Doug Estle Award for his vision, professionalism, and years of leadership.
🎉 We celebrated the career of Dr. Arrington, our assistant principal, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service to Alma Bryant. His steady leadership, caring spirit, and commitment to students and staff have left an incredible mark on our school.
👨🏭 We also recognized Mr. Crenshaw, our welding instructor, who is retiring after years of shaping not only metal but also the lives of countless students. His passion for the trade and his students will be remembered for years to come.

This includes proof of residence, updated immunization records, and any other forms requested by the school. Completing everything in advance will help make the process smooth and efficient. Congratulations to Tres Watson, Kent Henderson, and Maverick Whitfield for being selected to the 1st Team All-County for Wrestling. Your hard work and dedication on the mat have truly paid off. We also want to recognize Cullen Billiot and Walker Connelly for their outstanding performance and for earning a spot on the 2nd Team All-County—well deserved! On the girls’ side, congratulations to Vivian Covert, Bailey Brown, and Arianna Hayes for being selected to the 1st Team All-County. Your commitment and effort have not gone unnoticed. A special congratulations goes out to Coach Miller for being named the Girls Wrestling Coach of the Year for Mobile County. Congratulations to Jayln Lumpkin for making the North South All-star team for the south part of the state. Only 18 players from the south half of the state were chosen to play. Jayln has been a varsity starter for all 3 years he has played at Bryant. He is team captain and an honors student. Jayln will be playing in Montgomery on July 23. Congratulations to Jayln and his family for this honor.
